While Chandler has stayed ready, McGregor has been living a whirlwind of a life. From starring in Road House<\/em> to making headlines for altercations, viral weight-lifting routines, and even an alleged affair, McGregor is once again dominating the news cycle \u2014 even outside of the cage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, he made headlines in Ireland by floating the idea of running for president. And yet, despite the distractions, McGregor claims he\u2019s not done fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Chandler has endured a rough stretch, going 2-5 since joining the UFC. He\u2019s currently on a three-fight skid, with many critics suggesting it may be time to hang up the gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Chandler isn\u2019t interested in retirement. A lifelong competitor and former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion, he\u2019s chasing one last defining moment \u2014 and a win over McGregor could be exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McGregor has officially re-entered the UFC\u2019s anti-doping testing pool \u2014 a requirement for any fighter planning to return to competition. While many fans doubted his latest comeback claims, the UFC\u2019s anti-doping website<\/a> confirms that McGregor has completed a test this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This would mark his first fight since suffering a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Despite numerous public promises to return, this latest move could finally signal real intent.”Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House,” McGregor wrote<\/a> on July 4. “I would be honoured! While Chandler waits, McGregor still has options.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Whether it\u2019s Chandler, Diaz, or someone else entirely, McGregor\u2019s return appears to finally be gaining momentum. For Chandler, the clock is ticking.
